Hi ,
thanks for looking at this post.......i have a e w210 with an audio 10 stereo; the problem is when i put the correct code in (the one with th audio manaual on the card) it doesnt work.
i attempt to put the code in three times then it says "WAIT".
I dont understand; the code is correct because i used it a year ago when the battery was replaced....
Every time i put the code in it fails......
Please help.........

Hi

I know you said this is the right code but this usually only happens with the wrong code.
Does it still display wait on the radio.
Do you have the full chassis number to hand if so PM it to me and i will see what i can come up with for you and see if the code it the same as what you have

hi,

thanks for looking and the prompt reply,

I went to my local garage; he had a contact at mercedes and phoned them with my Chasis No the stereo code they confirmed the code was correct.
but it still dosnt work.......

The only other way would be to remove the radio and get the serial number of it and get the radio code that way and check to see if they match

Sorry i should have said the card that came with the stereo has the serial on it and that ws checked and the code is correct.....

The behaviour you see is 100% as if the code was incorrect. If you know the code has previously worked with this specific radio, then it must be broken somehow. Did you tripple-check the code being valid for your current radio?

One thing I can think of is that sometimes the processors are replaced during a repair and this means they need recoding - has this code worked previously?

Try 0000 or 1234, unless the unit is in danger of locking down for good.

The only thing is it doesnt mean the serial number on the card matches the number on the unit itself.
If you can remove the radio you can check the two serial numbers against each other and if not PM me over the serial number and i'll see if i can get the correct code for you

Hi the code is correct as i have used it before; the radio hasnt been replaced so i dont understand why its doing this.......:wallbash:

If the code is correct then it must be a fault with the unit and requires repair or replacing

Requires repair then, probably involving replacing the processor.

Try 0000 and 1234 just in case it's reverted to default but otherwise..

Ah - my Chosen Specialist Subject is Blaupunkt, so a lot of Merc stuff (Sony, Alpine, Becker) is outside my actual knowledge and into guesswork.

Spoken to someone who knows about these things and he reckons he has never seen a processor issue - always the wrong code. I know you are saying you have the right code, but just relaying info.

He did ask if this an Alpline or Becker unit - serial starts with AL or BE?

after putting the code in what are you pressing?
