strange problem

Guys i have a strange problem. I turn my radio on. When i turn the back screen heater for defoging, the radio goes bad and the stations dissaper. I hear nothining during this time. Imediately after turning off the backscreen heater the radio works again. Any idea?

At a guess, there's a bad earth here somewhere, probably with the aerial.

The (I think) top two 'bars' of the HRW are the FM aerial, and share an earth. The quality of the HRW earth is therefore extremely important, so that's where I'd start. Make sure the connection is clean and tight and that any crimps are good too.
