If you need a pollen filter, I bought one from e-bay for £12:99. I can send you the guys e-mail addy if you like. I got him to add a 'Buy it Now' which he did within 30 mins. Haven't got the filter yet but expecting it any day now.(He doesn't accept paypal so had to send a cheque)
had this problem when we pruchased an eclass car from MB direct... pollen filters changed... when back to the delaer three times after, they sprayed it with anti-bac spray. Better, but still not perfect. It helped to put the blower on hot for a few hours after the spray (car has to be running).
Never been fixed perfectly, no matter how many times it went it. Worse thing is that it smelt like 'BO'...
all the air-con equipped cars I have had, have all done the same thing. It seems to be one of those things. Turning the air-con off for a while and putting the fan on full speed for a while seems to purge the exchanger and helps to keep the bacteria at bay...
Just bought some stuff off e-bay - CARPLAN Air Con cleaner + disinfectant. Will be using that then replacing my old pollen filter. That should get rid of any nasty niffs and improve air flow from blower(Well thats the plan anyway)
I had the same problem on C200 I once had- never really went away although the Wynn's AC spray did improve things. Awkward job too.
Here's a useful link http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/jk/020424.htm
Also (copied from another site ) ""Another option: dry up the evaporator, after every AC use, or at least daily before turning off the ignition, by simply turning up the temperature to full hot, at maximum speed, while selecting "Front Defrost" for a few minutes. You may not like this inconvenience, but comparing to that when a new evaporator is required, and the evap is out of warranty, plus the musty smell every time the "Front Defrost" is selected, I think the inconvenience is justified. (Defrost activates the air conditioner compressor on most cars)""
This seemed to work for me.
