Strange Vin No. Message

Hi All
Not sure if this is the correct place to put this but tell me off if it is the wrong place

I was checking on the forum to see if my car had a DPF fitted and was told I would need to show my VIN No which is WDC2030082R195538 and I was advised that it did not have one.

I went into the internet to check details of my car with the Vin No and from 2 sites I have got this message. Quote:Warning: VIN has invalid check digit. Make sure it is spelled correctly! (check digit = 4, found = 8)

This Vin No. is the same on the windscreen and the log book any ideas what this means.
