Did a quick service on the car today, plugs, oil, oil filter, airfilter and brake pads.

Bought all the bits from the main dealer using my chassis number to make sure they got things right and yet on fitment I found I was supplied the wrong air filter

Dont quite understand how they get it wrong so often...espacially when they use the chassis # - last time it was the plugs they got wrong.

Think thats bad? they got a totally wrong wing for my Brothers CLK after they had it for over a week!

Are you sure you went to a car dealer and not the local Chinese Takeaway 'Wong Wing'?

:o Sorry about that.

Same thing happened to me.

Supplied the chassis number and got the wrong air-filter, so I took it back along with the correct old one only to be told that the old one was wrong and wouldn't fit the car !!!

He eventually (grudingly) sold me the one I needed.

I was supplied incorrect rear brake pads for my W202. I'd bought them months before, but they did not need fitting as soon as I thought they might. Were replaced pretty much quibble free, but with a comment along the lines of someone must have changed both rear calipers - yeah right!
