Hi thanks for the info.
I am looking at a 2017 cls 220amg line premium and considering the purchase of it but when I check the mot history it states at the last mot advisories. Subframe corrosion but not structuraly unsafe ,that is my only concern apart from that, it is a 1 owner full mb service history 49000 miles motor.
Any thought would be appreciated.
Best regards And thanks.
Neil

If it has visible signs then it could be a lot worse for areas you can’t see.
I would give it a miss myself with all the hassle it would take to repair if needed.

Unless mercedes offer to do it for free, I'd avoid that car. Shame that a 2017 car should have subframe corrosion!

2017 cars shouldn't be affected? It might just be external surface rust - not uncommon. I agree that it's best avoided, though, unless it can be throughly inspected.

I had a Mercedes C207E400 ( 2016 ) that was written off due to subframe failure.Walk away.My car was inspected by a well known specialist and was given an all clear. On my car the frame corroded from the inside out.

Id check it personally or have it checked as iv found some mot tester can be a bit ott on advisories. subframes will suffer surface rust its inevitable thanks to the salt and road conditions here nd the fact they are the closest to the road so will naturally take a beating from stones etc
