Watch this car drivers first reaction to this collision.

Mmmmmmm. Can't bring myself to blame him though.

I find it interesting what effect 1 - 1 ½ second braking has on the following car. Take note those who voted in the 'braking thread'.

One thing's for sure, the motorcyclist won't have suffered any brain injury - he clearly doesn't have one!

I do. Bet he was lane hogging.

Agreed, though the biker almost did a stoppie, such was the severity of his braking.

Dangerous in front of an unknown driver.

Agreed, biker assumed that a fast driver is a good driver and ultimately paid for it. He should have realised the arrogance of the driver by virtue of his lane hogging in the first place.

Car driver lane hogging as car in front was accelerating away.
Biker right to under take but for what? To brake in front of the car?
Car wrong not to be able to stop and avoid hitting vehicle in front.
Biker wrong to tempt fate to try to prove point.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Dickhead driver, totally brain dead biker.

Don't agree with that given the circumstances.

And the 'measured' response was to do a brake test in front of the car.
End result in this country would be points (and maybe prison), likely no insurance payout to repair the bike/replace leathers/helmet or for injuries PLUS the ignomy of insurance paying for the damage to the car.

Brilliant. Really taught that car driver a lesson.

That was horrendous.

All for making a point as hate lane hoggers but bike v car is never going to end well.

Thought for a second there biker was going to manage to stay upright, at least our inconsiderate lane hogger braked and didn't drive over him and had the decency to catch it all on a dashcam.

No matter what led to the incident, the biker did one of the most stupid things I have seen in a long time. He put himself in mortal danger...for what?

As for the driver post incident...I'm not sure I'd have rushed to the aid of the biker....he (biker) was clearly very angry.

That does not apply in a case such as this where the vehicle in front has pulled in front of the other vehicle and then proceeded to brake test the car. It would not be described as reasonable, and in the event the case went to court it would surely be thrown out.

Legally, perhaps so.

But you will agree that a reasonable driver in these circumstances would have slowed down asap and backed off, keeping his distance from the lunatic biker as far as possible?

Both behaved badly, to my mind anyway.

Probably. But, in defence of the driver, before the last brake check the biker had accelerated away hard...if I'd been the car driver I'd have thought he was on his way...and would not have expected the violent braking.

Down here you are not allowed to hit anything in front of you - means maybe in this case slow down, pull over let the guy on the bike go. If he won't it might be harassment, dangerous driving e.t.c. Try not to get the guy excited.

Up here we aren't allowed to hit anything in front either.

As a fellow biker i just cant get my head around why the guy on the Bike would slam the brakes on......
The usual method is just to raise your knee and let your slider take the wing mirror off as you go past.
