Car
1994 Mercedes C180 classic
As some of you may know I have a Mercedes C class w202, there are some mods which I have done:

Front grille, indicators and rear lamps upgraded
Upgraded sound system with speakers
Wood interior partially installed
Chrome gear surround, instrument and heater rings
Chrome door lock and surrounds
Alloy wheels
Autodimming rear view mirror
Door sills
Leather steering wheel
Outside temperature gauge

Mods waiting to be installed:
Electric leather interior
High level brake light
Remaining wood surround for gear

Just wondering what else could reasonably be done. I have considered a turbo but it is not financially feasible yet.

Suggestions please. :bannana:

-Facelift front and rear bumpers
-Facelift side skirts
-Colour code the side strips.
-Facelift the side repeators
-W210 door handles
-W210 blinking mirrors

I will re-upload my old W202 gallery sometime, as I did all the above (apart from the mirrors)

How about twin auto dimming, folding, blinking, heated mirrors. C43AMG has already done it successfully. If that not enough howabout auto dipping mrror when you select reverse.HTH

Interesting....... that hasnt been done on many cars..... ok... part numbers then Greg so I can check prices please?

I don't have any part numbers but C43 AMG has done it and I know Steve (maidstone) fitted at least the second dimming glass. The drivers glass usually auto dims so you have to order a German left hand drivers mirror as well as a right one. The Auto dipping on reverse I have done on my w203 it required a different mirror innard and possibly a new door controller although I'd have to check.

Shude knows loads about this subject!

heres an idea as everthing else i would have said KillerHertz already has. You say you are updating the wood then why not make it that your complete centre console is upgraded to the later style with the rounded switches aswell appose to the square old style ones. Maybe facelift door cards also whilst your at it ?

Also do you have any current pictures of your car as is so it gives us an idea of whats been done and how it looks so far

Not worth the effort.

You would need to completely remove the interinor, remove all the exisiting looms (from the central console to all 4 doors, headrests, heating system, rear heated screen) and re wire the lot.

I agree with KillerHertz, I know that Steve at MBenzNL did this with his car, but it says on his website that it took him the best part of 2 weeks. He even took the time to separate out the looms for his new interior prior to fitting them so he knew what each one was for.

It would be a nice but time consuming idea.

blimey never knew it would be soo time consuming. I guess the only way i could see it as worth it would be if you could get everything needed for dead cheap maybe from a salvage W202, otherwise even i would agree it aint worth the effort. Any pics of your car NW Merc ?

Hi NW_Merc - not sure if you've seen the gallery for my old W202 but just in case you've missed a few simple mods that I might have done in the past :)

Yes Steve in Kent fitted both dimming mirrors and Seve in Holland fitted the 210 blinking mirrors when he fitted the Comand. It took Steve in Holland a day to fit the 210 mirrors and the Comand.

LOL. I'd forgotten how much of my two W202s was still in circulation. The cars have gone but their mods live on. Wheres the rear blind these days, I always liked that blind it's so much better than the w203 one!

KillerHERTZ is the new lucky owner :)

That blind will live on forever :D

They've stopped making the manual rear blind havent they?

I would have thought so. Never ever seen one for sale anywhere. I have the part number in a brochure somewhere which I can dig out if you want to try?

If budget allows so facelift it:

New style bonnent
New style rear and front bumpers
New style skirts

Otherwise basic mods:

Rear smoked OEM look light clusters
Front clear light clusters
Colour code the handles but leaving the chrome strip
Avantgarde gill insert - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Grilleinsatz-...3687591QQihZ015QQcategoryZ64918QQcmdZViewItem
Auto dmimming mirror

P.S - Do you have any pics of how the car looks now ?

Remember I have a facelift rear bootlid (complete with tiny rust patch) avaible for £Free*

*You'll have to collect it off me though.

NW_Merc, I take it you have the amazing moving cupholder?
