Where do you guys store your sunglasses and your phones? Have a new to me x218 and can’t find anywhere suitable

There used to be an MB accessory that's a sunglasses storage box and fits instead of the handle near the roof, on the driver side.

The phone goes on the wireless charging mat, or in the cup holder.

There's also and aftermarket insert for the cup holder that supports the phone.

My Zeiss Umbramatics sit in their leather pouch , just forward of the gear selector and below the ashtray ( W124 ) , my phone goes in its cradle , on the left side of the centre console , only used for music and occasionally sat nav .

To get the sunglasses holder I bought a set of second hand grab handles.

They were advertised as being for a W204 C-Class, but they fit my S212 E-Class.

I don’t have the same car as you however the following is pretty much universal.

Sunglasses almost always go in the drivers door pockets. Phone either goes (1) in the centre arm rest if there is a media integration kit; (2) on a magnetic mount clipped on to a centre vent if using it for satnav; or (3) if not in use then in the slot in the drivers door armrest which is almost always perfectly positioned, sized and shape.

I'm fortunate in having a unique place to keep my mobile phone, no matter which car I'm in. I probably pay extra for this facility, but I think it's worth it. It's a pocket in my trousers/jeans.

This is the 0.000000000000000001% of the time that I’m a passenger and so it’s on the wrong side, but the driver’s door is a mirror image.

My phone goes anywhere, house ,garage, car or other cars. Normally have to phone it to find it. As you can see I'm pretty organised. Found a pair of glasses yesterday in with my drill bits, only been missing for two weeks

I bought a Chinese eBay solution for less than £15 - looks quite good in black ABS, I’ll fit tomorrow and post a photo.

Phone in pocket.....it automatically links to the car so why do you need it on display? Sunglasses (prescription in my case) on face.....for at least 3 or 4 days per year in the UK!!!...rest of time in their case in the centre consul.......which is huge on the 212.

If your phone is providing navigation via Android Auto/CarPlay, your pocket may not be the best place for GPS satellite reception.

Phone goes in the charging cradle I fitted.
Yellow, anti LED, specs sit on the rear view mirror.

Many people use their phone for satnav and phone calls, and unless they have CarPlay/AndroidAuto or an integrated phone kit then they won’t be able see the visual aspects of each. Both things are possible even with your phone in your pocket, but not ideal.

True....I use the radio for music and the cars satnav so its not a issue for me. I do have a vent mounted phone holder left over from the my ALFA (it had no sat nav)....but thats not come out of the glove box so far. But its a solid thing and I've never had the phone fall out.....unlike my wife's near useless magnetic one!!!

All fitted looks good bit fiddly to fit and does catch the headliner on opening but looks good and well matched closed
