Conflicting results if ULEZ compliant

I usually take my A207 and pay the ULEZ rate when flying from Heathrow and I put it on the company expenses. But if I need to take his car (X218 220d 2016) the TFL & Motorway say his is not compliant. Carwow & lowemmisions Scotland and the government website (doesn't include TFL) all say the car is compliant. His V5 shows CO2 is 132 g/km & NOx 0.042. Would this be compliant do you think. If so how can I get it added as compliant to TFL. I can't be the only one with a conflicting conundrum.

If it is Euro 6 with adblue it’s compliant.

Yes. First thing I did. It is a bluetec with an adblue tank. But TFL says to pay up.
Do you have a private plate ?

TFL have IMO an inadequate IT setup that appears to know what a car is according to the DVLA info they have - but then defaults to checking the year of the plate - and if you have a private plate will quite happily claim your car as being non-compliant when the info they throw at you off their system shows it should *obviously* be compliant.

Be careful not to confuse with the congestion zone.

My van plate reads F2 1EAD which is a non compliant year (1988) but on the TFL ULEZ checker it says the vehicle is compliant.

Something not right there....especially bearing in mind that my 2010 Euro 5 w212 E350 CDI dieswl IS compliant......

Ok thanks I thought so. Before I Google the life out of me, does anyone know how I make the wrongs right?. Anyone corrected it before?.

I had this problem back in 2018 when their database said my 2015 B200 wasn't Euro 6 compliant. I wrote to TFL with a copy of the Certificate of Conformity (which was all in German) and a copy of my V5. They emailed back a couple of weeks later to say that their database had been updated to reflect that the car was compliant.

TFL have made it much easier now and you can do it all on-line. Here is the link to where you can tell them.

Thank you so much DF. I took it into my head (before anyone had replied) and rang the TFL "ULEZ Team" on 0343 222 2222. I spoke to a guy called Lee and explained my predicament. I also gave him the old car reg. He confirmed the car is compliant by the old reg. He said the system struggles to "read" private plates. All I needed to do was send in photos of the V5C (no COC) and email to [email protected] and the private reg will get added. Takes a couple of days.

Thanks for everyone's help. I'll update this post when it happens or I get an email.

My 2013 E350 cdi Blue Efficiency C207 also lists as non compliant
Co2 157 g/km
Nox 0.147 g/km

As listed on V5c

Because its about double the 0.08 grams of nitrous oxide (NOX) ULEZ limit.
Its NOX and particulates that matter....CO2 does not come into it.

Mine...

TFL should not be depending on motorists correcting their database.

Their IT is sloppy.

Sloppy IT systems should not be used as the basis for issuing fines and charges.

From TFL

Petrol cars must be Euro 4 or have NOx emissions equal to, or less than, 0.08 grams per kilometre.
Diesel cars must be Euro 6 or have NOx emissions equal to, or less than, 0.08 grams per kilometre and Particulate Matter emissions equal to, or less than, 0.005 grams per kilometre.

Its the "or" bit that is why mine passes....just!

This is QI....and tells you the hows and whys of their database.
