Yes. Haynes of Worthing. I've heard very good things about them.

Yup, I went to Haynes Auto Technics in Worthing today. They certainly know their onions there. However, they are displaying the early signs of stealershipitis, they decided to charge £65 just for a 5min road test and plugging it in to their laptop for a diagnostic.

These guys seem a bit more settled in the realms of the real word when it comes to pricing. I just asked how much to clear the faults from the ecu once I've changed my MAF, and he said they'd work something out around £40.

I wont be using Haynes again, they didn't tell me on the phone there'd be a charge, I had to wait a week for them to do it, and frankly they gave me no incentive to come back to them by slapping me with £65 charge for what was a 20min job with a laptop.

Changed my MAF Sensor today, had the faults cleared at Twaites for a TENNER!! I'm very pleased with Twaites, thanks for the recommendation Rob, (yes I dropped your name but they'd already said it only be a tenner!) Only took them 10mins, and think its a very reasonable charge for such a straight forward job.

I hope Haynes spend my £65 sensibly, they wont be getting any further business from me...

Good to hear some recommendations for people in Sussex. Is Haynes the one located in Goring (Worthing)? Do these people use genuine MB parts when doing any work? How long do you find you generally wait with either Haynes or Thwaites? My car is now just out of warranty, and, of course, now starting to play up! Looks like the fan blower is going up the creek and I suspect the brakes will need some attention before much longer.

Haha! I've been looking for an independent around the Brighton/Eastbourne area, didn't know I had one walking distance from my office! Will pop down today to see if they have any ideas why the C240 doesn't like starting...

Will post results if any.

There is a factory recall on W203's for starter motor issues. Apparently you ring up your dealer and quote PO32 recall and they should know all about it. I know yours is a W202 but its worth a phone call to see if it affects your model also. You might get it done free of charge!
