Swanneck tow ball too short!

I recently swapped the factory detachable tow bar from my old C220CDI W203 Sport Coupé to my W202 CLC350. Unfortunately the rear bumper of the CLC is about 10mm longer than the old car and so the detachable swan neck ball does not adequately clear the bodywork.

I understand that Mercedes provide different swannecks for each model, but the CLC350 was never homologated for a tow bar so there is no ready-made option. Can anybody suggest which swan neck might fit better? I only want to be able to mount my bike rack and will not tow anything - just need an extra 10mm or so clearance from the bumper.

Could you move it out further by using spacers?

Try Westfalia, they almost certainly made the kit you have if it's a genuine Mercedes tow bar.

You know you're breaking the law by fitting one, even if you just want it to mount a bike rack to it?
