I emailed the MB dealer in Manhattan (US) last year for a price on a part, and received no response. To rub salt into the wound they've sent me an email with details of their lease offers...

Sedans:

The 2007 C230 Sport Sedan is $299 a month for 27 months with $2,995 down payment. The vehicle is equipped with 7 speed automatic transmission, power heated seats with memory, sunroof and CD Changer.

The 2007 C280 4Matic is $339 a month for 27 months with $2,995 down payment. The vehicle is equipped with sunroof, CD player, power heated seats with memory.

The 2007 E350 Sedan is $549 a month for 27 months with $2,995 down payment. The vehicle is equipped DVD navigation, Sirius Satellite Radio, heated seats, sunroof and sport package.

Coupes and Roadsters:

The 2007 CLK350 is $469 a month for 27 months with $2,995 down payment. The vehicle is equipped with Sirius Satellite Radio, CD Changer, premium sound system, heated seats and sunroof.

The 2007 SLK280 Roadster is $479 a month for 27 months with $2,995 down payment. The vehicle is equipped with power memory seats and Sirius Satellite Radio.

If they did then the prices would be "corrected" to match everything else in the UK. Remember that even when the exchange rate is £1 = $2 items sold in the UK from USA sources are sold as £1 = $1, sometimes worse.

Bottom line is it's our own fault........if we pay up why will they drop prices...as MT said "market forces"....

Shame there's not an "Atlantic tunnel" like the Channel. £100 quid flight to NY, pick up a new Merc, back again. Happy days!
