Reminds me of a builder mate's car...absolutely filthy inside and out...you had to sit on a newspaper/plastic bag for fear of getting something horrible on your clothes.

That is something I'd like to know too.

Perhaps it's because they often aren't interested in cars...the number of women I've heard telling me 'I don't really care much about cars, as long as it gets me from A to B'.

Whereas a house is something special to them that they like to personalise and take pride in...and keep obsessively clean and tidy. (most women anyway, I've seen some right tips too...)

I did an off-road battlefield and cemetery tour in France mid-winter and when we drove onto the ferry, there was a ten feet exclusion zone around our Landy as no-one would park anywhere near it. It looked worse than that. I even managed to get a decent coating of mud on the roof by reversing through an especially muddy part at speed. The French crew weren't best pleased I can tell you
