....BMW X5s / Range Rovers (55 plate ) is what gangstas drive........ not ole mercs mate..
Hopefully there's a degree of irony in that statement. In any case, before you can generalize what gangstas drive or don't drive, you have to know precisely what constitutes a gangsta - are we just talking about gold-plated rappers here, or the most serious criminal masterminds..? . If big-time crooks only knock around in X5s and (specifically..?) 55-plate Range Rovers, then clearly they're not a particularly imaginative bunch......

Maybe in London but not in Liverpool.......lets put it another way, people who drive ole prestige cars aint gangstas, nor do they look like gangstas...they maybe wannabe gangstas...or small time crack dealers, petty theives on benefits, or live in council houses and wanna look like they've got a couple of grand......
You seem to know a great deal about who drives what, and why.......
I know quite a few people who punt around in old prestige cars and they often do so because (a) they just like the older stuff and (b) because the older stuff doesn't get vandalised, stolen or raced against every time they drive to a town or city. I got a brand new BMW 5-series in January but after it was vanadlised, I got myself a 1995 (E38) BMW 730i to use for work and any trips into town. It only cost me £2000 and yet according to your reckoning it means I could be a crack dealer, a petty thief or on benefits........Last time I checked I didn't tick any of those particular boxes.........
You'd be surprised if you really knew precisely
who was driving
what. Some senior members of Manchesters most notorious criminal gang drive around in old (and very tired) ex-police cars, for example. And the police themselves often use old, battered cars for surveillance and other undercover work. As for those who have stacks of money, well they don't all advertise the fact by knocking about in Bentleys and Aston Martins, believe me. I did some work for the chairman of one of the UK's biggest and oldest manufacturers about five years ago, and this was a guy with sufficient means to have a MacLaren F1 (Edit: I sat in it
