Could someone recommend a radio to replace my original audio10 in an w203 2003 c220cdi, the cd part has ceased to function, in MPSpeak the parrot is no more, has ceased to exist in fact it's dead.
not bothered if it isn't merc but must look aethetically correct.

as per my experience I suggest an Alpine or a JVC (this should be cheaper also)

Consider USB interface available with a lot of JVC

Had an Alpine and it was good in my W202 but the dash was more square.
This audio 10 is shaped to the fascia.

OK but it's quite difficoult (I'd say impossible) find an aftermarket radio well shaped.

In any case you need a suitable adapter: a plastic case to fit an aftermarket radio, so you can install the radio you like

I've just fitted a Pioneer AVIC-D3 to my 2005 w203, Pioneer sell the facias and you can get a harness adapter that will allow you to keep the steering wheel controls, the D3 has built in iPod control, DVD (region 2 only at min) DivX, bluetooth and GPS (which will keep the route if you remove the map dvd to listen to an audio cd) and it's all touch screen.

Granted it doesn't look as smooth as the command unit but I'm happy with the overall look and feel of it, and the sound quality is amazing :)

Becker Grand Prix 7990
The perfect choice!

But, as said before, you do need an DIN slot adapter.

I would look at an APS 30 as well, no adapter needed and you have Sat-Nav as well.

If you find the current set of adequate quality but want to replace is due to it breaking just buy another W203 Audio 10 off ebay. They are cheap due to being shaped.
