The new 212 E-Class...

I don't understand it. I have bought three MBs from new (including an SL). I have been in to my local dealer a couple of times and looked over the new E-class and E-Class estate and given the salespeople my name. We are definitely replacing the current S211 this year, we've got £50K to spend, I am registered with MB for launch events and with my dealer, too.

But I hear nothing. The cars get launched and we hear nothing. MB offer out 24 hour test drives and we hear nothing. The brochures are issued and I hear nothing.:(

Hate to say this, but BMW are doing a great job of the 5 Series launch.....

Mercedes-benz of ascot cancelled on me twice to book me in for the 8th of march now, just under 2 weeks away... grrrr

not happy at all:mad::mad::mad:

Just phoned Mercedes-Benz and they said ascot shoudnt be contacting you regarding the test drives as it's all done by mercedes so they don't know what's going on there and they are going to find out...

I knew something was not right with the ascot dealer phoning me twice to cancel on me.. ****:devil:

It's alot nicer talking to Mercedes-benz rather than the dealers, they seem more professional and understanding!

They booked me back for next week on the 3rd with basingstoke mercedes!!:) That's better!

a friend who works in mercedes told me it back to w124 std for mercedes it would mean if this true the w124 convertibles might go down in price so i can get one.

i doubt it... buyers of a W124 convertable are buying into an appreciating classic. a person considering a A214 has different reasons to look at such a car and i doubt would be interested in a A212

Nothing from Mercedes, they ignore me as usual! Porsche have given me a Cayenne for 24hrs and im going to book a 997 Turbo for 24hrs too from Porsche Guildford which they keep calling to organise....Nice....

They will probably send everybody this offer, they just can't sent it to everyone all at once as they provide one car for the entire network of dealers so I was told.

So for example greenoaks Mercedes will get one E class to share between Ascot, Reading and Slough.

Indeed, got a card from the local dealer inviting me to the launch. I don't know where they got my details from, but I remember going to a bike show and gave my details expressing my interest on one of their bikes, but I woudn't have thought they'd try and also sell me their cars as well? Would they?

If you told them what you do for a livingm the number of miles you do/yr and your present car I would reckon someone would think you'd be a candidate for a 530d/730d

Got a letter telling me about a show room event for the convertible at the beginning of March (6th/7th), limited availability, they will contact me if they have any 'seats' left. No offer of a test drive though.

That's what i've got through the post^^^

I wish they'd stop advertising the 212 with Cuprite Brown. IMO it is the worst colour for the car, especially as it look so much worse in print than it does in reality.

Whereas I think it could be the new black! :)

Either way, it makes a change from silver/grey/black Mercs.

curpite brown looks great in the metal .. very elegant

All this talk of Cuprite Brown is getting me hot under the collar:

When MB World opened in Brooklands, I distinctly remember that the stated purpose of the centre was to have a very wide range of cars on show with all of the different paint colours, trim levels and options so that you could really spec your new car effortlessly. The reason I remember this is that, when I read this, I had recently taken delivery of my new 211 and I had been frustrated when spec'ing that car that I had been unable to view any of the options I was ordering prior to puchase (Airmatic, Linguatronic are two that spring to mind).

So, the other day I went to MB World to look over the new E Class. I am particularly intersted in Cuprite with the brown leather - all in an Avantgarde trim level. I was pleased to see that MB World had about 9 E Class cars on show.

And what were they? They were all Sport-trimmed cars in Black in the three most popular colours (Silvers and Blacks), except for one Avantgarde car in Black. No light coloured leathers, no interesting paint colours, no interesting options.

that's because they need to sell the cars eventually, and don't want to take any "risks" .. pathetic really

yep , why make them then?

Would be much easier if they just offered grey and black leather  oops thats what they do in the w204 even tho the shots of it in some of the material online shows the teracotta leather. :(
