I spent a few hours in the garage last night cleaning the whole car down.

Upon going over the bumper again, I noticed a few other areas that needed further polishing.

So this morning, I contacted the bodyshop to see if they could possibly give me some polishing compound to do the job myself, rather than bring the car back.

They only had a skeleton crew in and John wasn't in.

The guy I spoke to said he would leave a message for John on monday.

Me being pretty impatient  decided to go and see another bodyshop guy I know.

He kindly gave me some polishing compound to use.

Whilst out, I also collected my new grille from the dealers.

I then set to work polishing the areas on the bumper.

They came up really well - so well, that I decided to give the bumper the once over.

The whole bumper came up sooo much smoother!

I then cleaned it down and then gave it the first coat of wax.

So far, the bumper looks great and I cannot see any areas of concern.

I then went to fit the new grille. Upon inspecting it, I noticed a slight crack in one of its corners

So they have ordered a new one for me which I should have soon enough.

Sorry... that wasn't bumper-related... don't all jump on me!

I then swapped my wheels back over.

Apart from the grille, the car is all good :bannana:

Hi Rash,

I'm glad to hear you have your pride and joy back, when you get a chance post up some pics. :thumb:

Rashman, good to hear your "baby" is nearly there!:)

Hey Steve :thumb:

I've spent quite a few hours going over the car, polishing, waxing, swapping wheels over etc.

It's great to have it back finally.

Just the new grille to go on next week and then it's all good

Hello Rash- I thought I'd wait for the happy ending just incase.

Glad all is back to normal :thumb:.

Have you tried illuminating the repair with a 1000w work light, might just see a difference in shade.

I am sure alls good though, your critical eye deserves it.:thumb:

Hey bud :thumb:

Funnily enough, I ran a tube light over the bumper earlier this evening.

I have a good size tube light with a plug on the end of it for general use in the garage.

So I nervously passed the tube light over the bumper at various angles and all seems well :)

There is one tiny thing I noticed but you really have to be literally 3 inches away to notice.

Not at all worth taking back to have rectified. It might cause more problems than its worth.

Hey Rash,

Catching up with your thread and glad it appears all sorted.

Hope your out cleaning it today as the weather is great (for a change).

All I can say is... phew!!

Rob, my good man! :thumb:

Thanks for reading up on the thread.

Actually, I took the car out for a blast today with a friend and his Skyline.

Was great to get it out after all whole bumper situation.

We drove down to Lewes.

We went to a place called The Plough - which was one of the places we had as a destination on a previous Meet & Drive.

We neared the Plough and there were signs saying "beware - wildlife" or something like that.

A few moments later, there were loads of little black lambs chewing grass right by the road side :crazy:

lol!

There was nearly a thread called "The Black Lamb" in the pipeline! LOL!

Needless to say, I drive very slowly until we got to the Plough. :D

Got to the Plough and we were greeted by a white dog as we entered :doh:

LOL!

Here are a few pictures, as some of you guys on here have been asking me how the bumper turned out.

Hope to see you and Blackie soon, Rob !
