I've been helping our eldest son decorate his house, on Sunday evening we traveled back in the CLK. On Monday morning I see he has white gloss on his jeans that is now on my passenger seat :(

So I did some looking around on the detailing world forum and saw many recommendations for using olive oil. Not really expecting it to work I had a go tonight, just olive oil applied with kitchen towel and the seat came up spotless with very little effort. I was really amazed at how easy it was. However, it won't even touch it on the plastic armrest, must be some reaction with the leather, or leather paint/coating.

Afterwards I cleaned the olive oil with leather cleaner just in case that started to stain the leather :)

I once had a new Volvo 850 on hire with a lovely cream leather interior.

My Uncle was the passenger for the day and had a ball point pen in his rear pocket. A hole in the pocket ensured each movement he made was recorded in ink on the cream leather.

Mrs Ringway came out with her "1000 Household Tips" book (I'd always said the book was pretty useless) and gave me the answer to the problem which was to rub milk into the leather.
Worked perfectly. Phew!

Not too much milk as I would imagine the smell after a day or two would outweght the benefits of the clean looking leather ;)

Nice little time bomb
