The worlds gone mad I tell you

A VERY optimistic ebayer I would suggest!!

plate obviously cannot be taken off the merc so its worthless really and will be scrapped when the car gets scrapped :(

I'd pay £75 for it....

Edit: The car... ;)

What would that plate be worth if it were on retention?

Plate can only be transferred if the car is road worthy and was to pass the MOT inspection at a local DVLA office for it to be allocated a standard registration for the private plate to be removed/transferred. However, there are exemptions on cars registered before certain dates that do not make them eligible!

H21 - VERY RARE CHERISHED NUMBER PLATE

Surely it's more than rare...it's unique! So it must be worth £150,000

H20 would be less rare. in fact 4-5ths of the world is covered in the damn stuff. and if this global warming stuff kicks off, 6-5ths of the world will be covered with it, if the doomsayers are to be believed.

still, who would want H21?

tried to bid 4p but it wont let me!

I believe there are also certain clauses that allow it to be transferred off even if the car is not roadworthy.

Many years back my mother got clipped by another driver on the M27 and flipped her Renault 5 Turbo. In the end we had to take the wreck on a flatbed truck to the local DVLA office, but they did allow us to transfer the plate onto the new car. Obviously, at the time it did have a valid MoT certificate, even if the driving position was "interesting".

Doesn't it cost a fair bit to have a reserve on e-bay? I mean relative to the asking price? At £80k reserve (assuming thats what it is) the listing is quite an investment. Certainly not pennies.

They say the car has been in the family since new, but has 3 previous owners?? One way to devalue a car is to pointlessly re-register it. Although in this case the number of owners appears to have multiplied the value considerably !!

I'm SO tempted to say the world is ful of H2O not H20, but one cannot represent a subscript 2 on this forum anyway so I think I'l 'GMC' (get my coat...) & stick to my evening of pizzas with mates :D :).

Re Ebay merc

The plate can be removed and put on any other car its just a matter of doing it - seeing as the car was first bought and the private plate put on it we decided to sell the car with the plate - there is nothing dodgy or illegal about selling the car with the plate or the plate with the car its purely a personal reason for doing so - if anyone would like to contact re this in a sensible manner and who wants facts not to just make up fiction then please do not hesitate to contact me direct

unfortunately people die - its a fact!!! These people were my family members throughout

Another tip off ...... as per usual

EDIT : though i'm confused as to why so many members on here think it can't be transferred off the car  , surely its just a case of transferring it as normal, i never have a problem transferring my plate from car to car ....

Why is the plate described as VERY rare ? Surely there should only be ONE !
