Any help would be appreciated. I am thinking of buying a 1999 C250TD estate auto, and seem to be hearing that the fuel economy on these things is not that great. What are these things like on a) a daily, round town basis and b) on a longer run?

The car is cheap (its a 99T from a specialist for 5500 with 94000 on the clock and a full history) - the only problem is that it is white. Still, its cheap.

Any advice much appreciated

My mate has one, and as you say it isnt as good on fuel as he hoped, but it dont arf shift! Sorry I cant help you more, but I believe the w202 C220 cdi was a lot better on fuel.

I,ve a c250 estate and get 45mpg on a run and about 30 in town.Check round the boot lock for rust as they all rust there.

The 250 is basically an un-bored 270 (isn't it?) I get 30 around town, up to 50 on a run, and would expect you would get similar.
