Great clips - love the Top Gear one.

There is also a great scene in The Transporter near the end with a W140 and several trucks - worth looking out for.

JC was fascinated by the self closing windows. I had a BMW 520 in 1991 which did that, and you didn't have to hold the button!

Good find!

I know its a BMW 7 series and not a Merc, but the opening sequence to that film has one of the greatest car chases I have seen in a film, even if parts of it are a bit far fetched.

I agree Tim.. the whole movie was just action packed... :)

Does anyone know any movies with a w124 cabrio in it apart from "The Firm"?

You might have started something here!

I remember on the US site there was a 'have you spotted any R classes in movies' thread. As you might imagine, it didn't last for very long!:o

Try and find a nice W140, impossible.

I've been looking for a late facelift S500/S600 must be LWB with under 120k for months.

They appear in the Mercedes direct auctions at Blackbush once a month or so, as for condition, some "look" nice but I've never looked any further.

When did JC turn from a bouffant-Chris Goffey-styled well-to-do-presenter into the loudmouth ending every sentence with "...in the world"; hilarious stuff.

Serious words of advice from Mr Wollard at the end; be careful children

Thanks Howard.. this was the video some years ago that made me realise that a CLK wasnt for me..

I know you are a fan, as are my friends, but just for me it has to be the 124 ;)

hilarious stuff.

I couldn't figure whether it was actually Alan Davies or perhaps it was filmed in the 70s.

Jeremy has definitely evolved a bit.:D Or did I mean mutate?

for cars in movies there is a website....imcdb.com....i think...it is based on the 'International Movie DataBase', but for cars in movies....i think thats what it stands for...

a top range LWB W140 is something i may, just may, be willing to give up my 124 estate for.

however then, you loose on the practicality....i ve been abe to sleep in my car and im over 6ft 2"....im getting a coupe now, or want to, and have had to get over this dilemma...luckily the estate i have will raise so little money ive decided to keep it, and maybe use it for a project car...but i suppose one could sleep in the back of a four seater w140 LWB...can the seats be independantly moving?...like incline at all?

A very,very ugly car :( :(

It's not trying to be a pretty car.
