Just wondering if anyone has experienced similar. Bit of background, car is a 2011 C200CDI with the OM651 engine. Had a new timing kit fitted 20k miles ago.
Only when the car is warm there is a noticeable ticking on start up for a few seconds. Never happens when cold and doesn’t happen every time. I understand the timing chain issues on this engine but as I understand the main symptom of bad tensioner or chain is cold start rattle.
I’ve attached a video to give you an idea of the noise. Does sound a little higher pitched in real life than what the phone records.
