To de-badge or not?

On the continent it's far more common to be "de-badged" than it is here, in the UK it's more of a class thing, know your place Cleese/Barker/Corbett-style.

Where on the continent? I've lived in 17 countries before I was 25, never seen it anywhere as much as in the UK.

Wow people here are really opinioated about this issue. I had badges on mine for a couple of years, debadged it a few months ago and not sure what I prefer.

Maybe I'll put an AMG badge on it...
;)

On my CLS, I'm keeping all the badges. I think it deserves the AMG badge and who doesn't want 6.3 on the side!?

On my E320, it looks nice and clean without the rear badges. I don't care if people think it's a 220 or whatever, it goes well and looks tidy without the rear badges.

I think this looks neat and tidy...

The M-B dealer where I'll be picking up my car just told me there is no factory de-badging anymore and they are doing it a lot for customers, so have lots of practice. Double sided tape for all except the M-B logo.
+1 Fixed:
Too many E class diesel boys adding quad exhausts:doh:
Little danger of the S-class diesel boys doing it though, as the S350s have got one real double pipe on the left and two fake lookie-likie exhausts left and right.

If I had 5.5, 6.3, V8, V12, biturbo on the side I wouldn't remove them either

That's why on my E200 AMG I've left the 6.3 badges on the sides on...

Too add to the confusion that bit more:D

I used to open my window if there was any doubt - audible confirmation separated the wheat from the chaff... :D

Never used Mr Sheen but I assume it removes any remaining glue?

I tend to use tar remover then polish the area if needed.

It worked for me or WD40.

Badged? De-badged?:dk: Nah! Re-badge!:o

This is the back of my Defender....all in genuine Mercedes letters.
If you don't understand the name, you need to stay in more and watch more TV:rolleyes:

It's my wife's name for the car, and it has stuck.

Wonderful stuff, badge tape:D

Petrol is a good solvent for stubborn old badge tape glue, then a good polish.

That it isn't a 63 :devil::D

In that case, I better re-badge. Wouldn't ant anyone to think I drove a 63

Having said that, the V8 Kompressor wing badges kinda give the game away :D

And you seriously think that people know the difference, besides those that can argue the toss endlessly which model is best ;) Besides, surely that is the 4.0V8TT 7.10s car...And it still says 63 on the badges. Just saying ...
