Top Gear

I think a lot of you read way to much into the programe TBH!!!! Its just three presenters having a laugh and providing millions of viewers around the globe with top notch entertainment. And it doesent try to be anything else at the end of the day!!!!!!!!!!

Its only the first show of the season and already some of you have writen it off as a waste of time. LOL!!

All i can say is, if you dont like it so much then dont fecking watch it!!!!!!!!

Or is it that you just love to whinge about it? :p

Not quite so much whinge as w(h)ine. Thanks very much - a bottle of Sancerre with the fish please - and don't let those three yobs with the noisy cars in.

:-) I am a hardcore TG supporter, and will continue to watch. Just felt like that one was a bit lame given the amount of time they had, and the normal sense of entertainment I normally get from it.

I suppose thinking about it logically, if they have a run of ten shows, they arent going to have the best on show number one are they? Its a showbiz rule to build up slowly and bring out the best last.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that somewhere in the series will be a test of the "new" C class, preferably in its AMG guise.

Seeing as it was a new series that wasn't supposed to ever get off of the ground I thought I'd give it a go. When the VW W12 segment started with Clarkson just squealing like an idiot with the same cliches I figured nothing had changed.

Enjoyed the Stelvio ending - the rest is just old hat.

The roads feature would have been much more interesting if they had concentrated on showing people WHERE the roads were. Lets face it there are loads of nice spectacular roads in that part of the world and yet all that time was wasted on so called 'comedy' shots which frankly didn't work. The accent of this feature totally knocked the whole episode out of kilter. And if they were going to nick the opening music from the italian job the least they could have done was to use a Lamborghini Miura.

Format looking a bit tired?

For people with a penchant for statistics. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_Gear_(current_format)
According to Michael Harvey the editor of the Top gear magazine the show is the most pirated TV show in the world. Despite its obvious popularity its format is begining to look a "little tired". Its lack of a female presenter gives it an adolescent feel which altho amusing has begun to wear a little thin. :( They should have snapped up Sabine Smitz http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabine_Schmitz back in 2004 but she now hosts her own German TV show. Suzi Perry http://www.suziperry.com/ (she of the gadget show) does OK on MotoGP , is intelligent and easy on the eye. I'm sure there are others. Or are the "boys" a little afraid of being upstaged by a woman? ;)

I dont think one of the presenters wives would have allowed Sabine or Suzi to become a regular presenter...................
Cant think why.
Jodie Kidd for me!

Upstage the "boys"?.............
Heaven forbid.........
Going on Sundays performance, Anne Widdicombe could have upstaged all of them.

I realise they have filmed a number of studio sequences already - hopefully they'll pay tribute to Colin McRae sooner rather than later.

Sabine would have been useless on Top Gear. She's best being interviewed in ENglish, rather than leading. I love her to bits, but she's not that exciting.

A lap in the ring taxi may change your mind..

I tried to get into the RT quite a few times, but had to settle for a run in the Zakspeed Viper instead.

That's something I must try....

For those who missed it last Sunday, the repeat is on tonight at 7pm on BBC2

Just occured that some of the music used during the roads feature was from the XBox game "Halo".

Do I win some kind of massive saddo award for this?

Not trying to brag or anything but, been there done that, and yes the Passo De Stelvio was a blast to drive in the 300bhp atom.

Now where can I find that road? :bannana:
