Hello peeps, as sad as this is i only just found this out tonight after having the car for 11 months.....

MY car has a TOTAL CLOSURE ALARM....BUT.... the drivers window stops about 2 inches from the top , all the others close fully.

I had the alram fitted back in January and asked for total closure but they said that they couldnot do it. So that was that, then tonight i got out of the car and pressed my key fob to set the alarm and noticed the window was down. Before i could get the fob out of my pocket again itr went up.... bar the couple of inches at the top.

Is there a way to fix this or reset it....??????

Is the window properly normalised when using the switch auto close function.? If not try that first.

If it is already set then try lubricating the runners as it sounds as if the relay is timing out before the window is fully closed.

I am having trouble with this window at the moment... currently needs adjusting as it sits too high when closed anyway. Will try adjusting again and see what happens... so surprised i had this feature though......

Thanks Dieselman...:D :D

Sorry can i just ask if this is an aftermarket alarm? if its a clifford then you can try and extend the time windows stay active to close when the fob is pressed. When i had the total closure fitted on mine we had to adjust the timer for the alarm so all the windows closed properly.

extending the time is described in the user manual. If you need more info just let me know.

Assuming the window closes from the switch, will it work from the key (it came as standard on some models) ie. you hold the key in the driver's door in the lock position for a second or so..

At least you can see if its an alarm issue or a window issue..

My alarm is an after market as the original fob was not supplied when i bought the car and was advised to have a new one fitted
