Morning.
I have just bought a second pair of alloys that I am going to use with summer tyres.

I need to get new tyres fitted and at the same time I am planning on installing TPMS sensors.

Questions are.

1- am I correct in saying they don’t need coded to a s205 2015 c250d?
2- do you just drive the car for 5 mins after installations?

Lastly. Are all sensors equal. I have seen a set of 4 on eBay for £30 or £80. And others individually on AUTODOC for £25 a sensor (made by Bosh)

All very confusing.

Thanks in advance

Mike.

The seller should code them , then the car self teaches . I've just done exactly this , got mine off eBay £68 for 4 , working a treat.

Perfect thanks for the reply.
So as long as they are coded to work with the car they don’t need physically programmed to the car. I.e they don’t need to have the car.

Thanks.

Yeah , just fit and drive , they wake up once the wheels turn.

They sometimes take a few miles to register but as said earlier, as long as they are compatible there shouldn’t be a problem. When I was changing back to my summer wheels last year I replaced the tyres and as the car was 9 years old I bought a new set of sensors from eBay. I had to drive a fair bit and was beginning to wonder but they did activate eventually and there was no need for any coding.
My tyre place said they could have supplied them for much the same price as eBay and on reflection that might have been a better option, as had there been any problems it would have been up to them to sort it.
