Trying to pair Bluetooth

Chaps,

Just bought a W203 C280. Seems nice thus far.

I have a Nokia E71 phone and have just been trying to pair it and am a bit confused.

The car doesn't have a Bluetooth gizmo in the armrest -

However, the car can see the phone and when I put the passcode in both the car and the phone it briefly flashes up as "connected"

Then comes up "not connected"

So, do I need to buy the gizmo (Viseeo or MB) or is there a possible fault?

Probably not faulty. The earlier units with bluetooth all had the bluetooth function disabled but they will still pair with the phone. At least that what our dealer said when our 2005 SLK would not work. Apparently they were so unreliable they were disabled. To be fair the unt was never advertised as having bluetooth but it can be found in the service menu. If you have telephone prewiring then it should work with a bluetooth gizmo in the armrest.

My impression is that the Viseeo is better thought of. Probably depends on the price the MB one reaches.
