Just been to my local stealers (as that is what they are). I enquired about the price of a new electric motor and regulator for my drivers door on the Coupe. Total cost...............................£375+vat   They can forget that. Asked about some form of discount, they didnt want to play. Looks like I am going to have to "sort" something out. I just dont understand why items such as these cost an arm and a leg. For crying out loud they are not that sophisticated. And as for the local(ish) independant, he couldnt be bothered to call back (twice). Ok got it off my chest now.

Sorry to hear that Ian.

Have you exhausted all other avenues, breakers, eBay etc etc?

What's actually wrong with the old one? Is it not repairable, there are some good auto-electrical places out there, I am sure if the motor has failed they will be able to sort you out for less than £375+VAT! ;)

Good Luck :)

Try Dave Collins on 07710672986, by far the cheapest W124/W126 breaker i've found.

Think I bought a genuine motor for my Coupe from German and Swedish for £90 complete with MB holograms etc.

Have fun replacing the rivetts on the regulator - they are HUGE

Germany or USA??

Ian have you tried http://www.speed-autoteile.com/ they list febi bilstein window regulators but I couldnt find any motors. If you E-mail them the part nos they will send you a quote back. they appear quite efficient. The other possibility was the USA. A quick look on the Mercedes shop site http://www.mercedesshop.com/ gave a combined motor.regulator price of $345-15 or £187-65 Dont think they ship internationally tho there may well be other outlets in the states who do. http://www.mercedes-parts-online.com/company.html OTHERWISE breakers like KLP 92 suggests

I need a regulator for mine, but im not too keen on fitting a used one, its not a very easy job and i wouldnt want to have to change it more than once, my motor is ok, so hopefully the regulator isnt too much mon

Tried two breakers earlier on, both of which said they would phone me back. Still waiting  I will leave it till tomorrow then go see one of them.

You sure you need the motor as well, as the teeth on the motor are stronger than the regulator so you may not need it.
Not too expensive from MB
