Hello, had look over the forum but cant seem to find too much. Are there any tuning boxs for the e300td ? Or a way of controling the fueling? Going to Decat, and KnN panel filter, turn the boost up.
Got a EGT gauge just after the turbo so can set the fuel to boost with out any problems. If the ecu will raise the fueling as the boost is raised then happy days.

New to tuning the merc derv. Am a nissan man and know what, where and when with them, so any advice is great
Thanks ian

You can get tuning boxes for these engines, you can't turn the boost up as it's electronically controlled, why bother with a K&N, you need to mount the EGT gauge before the turbo.

KnN to let the turbo breath a little easier, using a panel filter not a cone. I was taught that the egt after the turbo and run it around the 620-650c mark, before turbo add 80-100c on top.
Ok as for adjusting boost, thats a shame. Didnt know if could bypass the merc controler and use an after market one? and raise the boost till the ecu light comes on.
Where abouts can u get a tuning box from? done loads of search's on google but not alot comes up. (Im not good at finding new stuff)

Thanks for a fast reply.

Ah good call dieselman, might have to move it on the merc and the patrol. Do these have a electric lift pumps???? or priming pump??
Thanks ian

Mechanical lift pump.

What has your Max and general EGT been? My Max on a standard engine is normally 780c, but I saw 820C once and a longish V-max uphill drag.

When I can be bothered the EGT gauge makes a good economy gauge.

only seeing 590-610 after turbo. Think my engine is running lean/cold as the engine is noisy on idle and when driving through the rev range, its had a new chain, tensioner,

As for just running about never really look any notice of it,

I believe it's the same engine, type Mercedes Black Smoke into Google.Maybe further than you want to go.

Meter the MAF to see if it's working fully at full chat as that will reduce fuelling.

The temps you are seeing are typical of post turbo installations.

anyone mount egt probe after turbo? - Dodge Cummins Diesel Forum

Does this type of ecu work with the flashing softwear? or know what softwear can read and remap the ecu? Do all my own mapping on the nissans
