So, this week has been a good one for my relationship with Mercedes Benz.

First of all, almost six months after this thread, Mercedes Benz UK have sent me a cheque for over a thousand pounds to cover the cost of flights for the whole family to our final destination, because they were unable to get the parts to repair our car within 48 hours. It's taken a long while because MB France have basically ignored the mobilo request - neither the dealer nor MB France wanted to talk to me. I wrote to MB UK at the beginning of February, asking them to mediate, and they have basically given up - the cheque I have is from MB UK, and they are going to chase MB France for the money so that I don't have to wait. The gentleman who called me to tell me he's sending a cheque said he'll be sorry to see me go - apparently I was his longest term international customer!

The second win is to do with this thread, on everyone's favourite subject, Rust. The car finally came back today, having had the driver's side front wing replaced (when they took it off, it fell apart), and the left front wing, rear driver's side wing, all four door tops and the boot lid repaired. To my (untrained) eye, they all look as good as new. The colour seems to be the same shade, the gaps on either side of the panels seem to be even, and overall I think I am happy. It's only taken a year since my original claim, and eight months since they agreed to pay for it ;-)

I feel good!
