I will keep it nice and short...

First..

How can I put a song on repeat? like in a loop if I see it in my MFD (see pic).

Second..

What is the purpose of that <P> on lights knob? I mean when can we use it and what does it light up? (is this for front lights or back)

Thanks :D

No idea on the music loop set up. The P denotes parking light i.e night time if your parked up on a road switch to the right the right front head light will remain on in dip and the rear lamp will remain on. Same for the NS.

Thanks mate!

After posting here I did a quick google and was surprised to find out quite a few people asking for the "repeat" option and as far as I can find out (so far).. there is no "repeat/loop" option in COMAND... To be honest this is madness from Benz for not giving a simple repeat option for a song! :wallbash:

IMO that P light is a bit pointless. If I'm parked up somewhere dark, I'd leave all my lights on. Surely that's better than just one side lit up?

If anyone is aware of repeat option of a song or workaround please do share... Thanks

The two P options for left and right are just one sided parking lights, depending on what side of the road you have parked on. I use it all the time.
It's the Mercedes equivalent to, e.g. In my previous car (BMW) holding the indicator stalk left or right for 2 seconds to turn on the side lights on that side of the car.
Remember to turn it back to A when you drive off though!!

It's been a while since I've had a 'normal' comand system (my one is the S class navigation comand which is a bit different). Try pressing * or # on the telephone keypad whilst you're in Audio, does that do anything?

I remember some older BMWs not having this feature at a time when Mercedes definitely did have it!

It saves battery when parked with the engine switched-off, as only one side is lit (the one near the centre of the road).

I have only encountered it on German cars so far, I wonder if it's a 'German' thing?

If you like the song that much, put it in a playlist of its very own, then select that playlist and the song should be repeated indefinitely.

Alternatively, when the next track starts, just click back to the previous track to replay it.

Thanks, yes I figured it out that I will have to press that "back" button every time I want to repeat a song. I am just amazed on the thought process of people at Benz who missed this feature. :fail

Now that you mention it, the only other car I've driven that has this option was a 1970s Mercedes 230. - Ever other car just has (all the) park lights on, or off.

I have seen this on my father's Merc at the time (1969), on every other Merc I drove since, on Opel cars, and on Vauxhalls (Opel again). So there does seem to be a German theme here... my Toyota, 2 Alfas, and the Renault didn't have it.

From Googling.... in Germany, some streetlights do do stay on all night long. They are marked with red paint at the base of the lamppost. When parking in an unlit street, or in a lit street next to a lamppost with the red mark, parking lights need to stay on all night long. Leaving only one side switched on doubles your chances of being able to start the car in the morning. I found it on Google... so it must be true. Case solved.

And here it is...:

Amazing! I would never like to live in such an area where I will have to keep my car lights on all night... Good find though..

You should use parking lights if parking on roads in the UK at night, if the speed limit is greater than 30 MPH. If you don't have "one-side" parking lights, then that means leaving side lights on.
