Hi I have just recently purchased some AMG IV's 18" for my CLK CAB. Not too sure on the tyre pressures.

Please don't say look in the filler cap "don't do german too well" and it does not say anything about different tyre sizes. Does one size fit all......??

Please advice...

My current tyre size are 225/40/18 front and the 255/35/18 rear.

Incidently I now have a set of 16" Avantgarde alloys with two good Avons 245/45/16.....

......and also a set of AMG IV's 17" 8.5j's with 225/45/17 and 245/40/17 on brand new Uniroyal Rain Sport I. These are good for CLK, C and SLK class.

Both sets are not scuffed or curbed.
PM me if you are interested.

It is the same pressures for all tyres. It is the same tyre sticker for all fuel filler caps regardless of supplied wheels/tyres :)

Thanks Shude for the prompt reply.

I know another member asked the same question and the reply was the same however with some sarcasm, so was not sure if the question was really answered.

Better check the pressures and brush up my German;)

the sticker on the flap is a pictogram and is in both psi and lbs measurements. not much german needed. :)

Duh...........

I should have stated in my earlier thread....

"Please don't say look in the filler cap ALSO"don't do german too well""

I don't have a problem with reading numbers but wanted to ask the question when the standard size that comes with the car is 205/55/16 and then moving up to 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 how can the tyre pressure sizes be the same (30 and 33). It does not seem logical when similar tyres on my 330 sports is almost 10 more.

I have still got the AMG's for sale before they go on ebay.....

I checked the EPC and for example the W210 has the same sticker in the filler cap for the E200 as the E55 AMG, one has 15" wheels the other has 18" wheels with quite different tyres.

I think tyre pressure is more to do with the purpose and weight of the vehicle than it is anything else.

This is a good wheel and tyres site http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible.html but doesnt answer your question im afraid. You could try your tyre manufacturer for some data. Otherwise your stuck with the "standard "settings which have been determined during the manufacturers model developement program.
