tyre prices

tried to get two kumho tyres today,nobody has any stock and thats the same for all makes.blackcircle tyres charged me £68 per tyre fitted last august,when they arrive in stock they will be £128.00
what is going on with prices of tyres.nearley 100% increase,all my local tyre fitters are saying prices are up 5% on average

You dont metion a size but seems cheap enough.


Do you get out much and do any shopping? Everything is shooting up,

A bag of compost 6 quid, as low as 3-50 last year!
gents shirts, butter, you name it raging inflation.

When I previously bought a pair of Conti Premuim Contact 2 205/65 VR15 from Black Circles about 15 months ago they were £75 each fitted , as another pair had been about a year before that .

In December last year , I again needed two tyres , but there was no UK stock in my size ( other than Michelin at about £130 from Costco , not being a Michelin fan I held off , the existing tyres being still just legal ) . When Continental once again had stock in January the price had risen to about £90 per tyre , which I paid because I needed them ; price has since dropped back to just over £80 .

Not a huge increase considering the earlier price had been held for at least two years .

It obviously depends what you are looking for .

KUHMO are Korean but I believe they have European production plants?
Price of oil has probably something to do with it?
