Hi all,
This is my very first post!
I have the W205 C220 bluetec Sport. Can anybody recommend the best tyre to fit the tyre size is 225/50 R17 94 W.
I will need to replace the rears in the near future. The current tyre that is fitted is a continental.
I would appreciate any feedback

Thanks

Jono

I have Goodyear eagle F1 Asymmetric 17" on my C220, replacing Contisport Contact 2's. The Goodyears are excellent, good grip wet and dry, and very quiet - noticably quieter than the Contis, ride is better too. Tried to get them for my 968 but not available in 16" so put Efficientgrips on, they are also very good.

Well you will always get the big names trotted out, most cost north of a £100 a corner,I would suggest you look at Nexen NPrez 4s at £69 at Tyreleader for a little more they are fitted at a tyre fitter near you,Nexen are fitted as standard on Porsche 4x4 these are a good tyre,if you do not on a regular basis treat the local A road as a race track then the £140 tyres are not needed.

I have the factory Contis on my W205 and they are about 50% worn on the rear with 6-5mm after only about 3,800 miles of gentle driving.
(Though they may only have 7mm from new rather than 8mm)

So my projection is about 8,000 miles

Similarly I've got a set of Hankook Ventus EVO tyres on the Nissan. - Not budget tyres, but not as expensive as the big name brands.

I found them better than the Goodyear Eagle F1 (symmetric), which were far too soft and ran of of tread in about a year. - They gave me a lot more confidence for spirited driving than some of the other tyres I've had.

My W212 was supplied with Hankook Ventus S1 evo 2s. They are as good as any of the premium brand tyres I've had and I'll probably stay with them at renewal time.

I recently put Goodyear eagle F1s asymmetric 3s on mine and u can't fault them compared to the contis that was fitted, out perform the contis by a country mile, and they've got to be 50% less road noise from them.
I got a deal on black Friday £216.00 fitted.
I found the continentals gave me understeer and the wheels would spin at the slightest twitch of the throttle.
On my last car a golf TDI gt I put kumho? I think that's what they was called and they was £70 a pop and again I couldn't fault these tyres for the price.

I think I had some Kumhos on the Nissan at one point, and managed to light-up all four wheels in the wet when the boost came in. Never had the Hankooks do that.

Hi,
I have just replaced the rears of my W205 with Michelin CrossClimate. I can definitely recommend them and will be putting them on the front when the time comes. The tyre fitter (ATS) was telling me that they are getting a lot of emergency response vehicles in to get them fitted too. Price wise there was nothing in it between the original Conti's and the Michelins.
