Tyre test results - Michelin Primacy HP's come out top on 205/55R16, although the top few are all pretty close.

Ah ha: I'm glad others have picked up on the post I made to the Honest John Back Room this morning.

That's very useful, thanks. I was looking for something like that only yesterday.

One thing, with these tests though, is they never seem to mention "tracking" or "whitelining".

My current mix and match of different makes has a distinct tendency to follow road ridges and white lines. I've had that in the past and I don't like it, to the point where I'd put an ability not to do so above wear in my list of tyre priorities.

Very interesting point about "whitelining" or "tramlining" as I know it. Our Saab 9-3 Aero had Pirrelli P Zero Nero tyres fitted when we bought it. Not a cheap tyre as you know but really awful as far as any undulation or camber change in the road was concerned. You do eventually get used to it but can be very unnerving at times.

We've just fitted a set of Toyo Proxes T1-R and they don't seem to suffer with this problem at all. Still not cheap though at around £95 each (215x45x17).
