My W203 has telephone prewire (so I understand now, I've this little black thing on the left side of my dashboard as well as an antenna on the glass at the back) Bought car from Mercedes, but they did not tell me about the prewire option it came with! Found out from a friend who gave me a cradle to fit in it. When took out the cover, there were 2 little holes made probably by someone putting some screws through them. How do I get to change the connector. Car still under warranty but Mercedes garage wont play ball. What should I do?
Answers please.
Thanks

Don't understand this - I've got a W203 and the phone cradle (and therefore the connector) are inside the top of the centre armrest.
Sounds like you've got some kind of after-market fitted kit (or perhaps a blank covering up where a phone holder had been?).

the pre facelift 203 had the audio 10 stereo without the telephone keypad so this was mounted next to the centre console on the passengers side unless it had comand

When the 203 got facelifted the audio 20 became standard and thus the telephone could like comand be put between the front seats.

I still don't understand the initial question , maybe a picture might explain what your talking about .

Your vin number will indicate which phone system you have and the wiring (with or without a cradle) is behind the ashtray because that is the place where these cables go. The armrest extension cable meets there as does the tower mounted setup.

Any chance of a photo ?

The car is prewired for nokia 6310i but the UHI connector has had some holes (probably done by screwing) through it. CAr is ubnder warranty, but the stealers have told me that the connector is not covered by the warranty and is faulty (because of the holes) and need replacing. As I do not want to go to the stealers for this connector where can I find this equipment?

The item in the photo is UHI. To operate a Nokia phone in that car in the photo you need a Nokia 6310 cradle (no curly cord).

I dont really understand what the holes and how they prevent you from attaching a cradle to the UHI clip.

I presume the dealer is staying out of this because someone damaged the equipment and that is usually not covered by warranty.

looking at your photo again , i see your not using the mercedes orignal stereo. Might affect how the uhi functions.

I thought the same. The OP seems to conceal a lot.
