Hi,

Anyone with UHI and MB Bluetooth HFP module can confirm me this please:

At the phone turn up the volume when making an call, does it do anything!?

I have an nokia 6230i and I'm having a very low mic volume, the people can't ear me when making an call!!!
I allready changed mic and UHI interface, and only left the BT module, but I want to confirm first if its possible to turn the volume up on the phone?? (I remeber doing that but now the phone doesn't allow it)

I tried with other 3 phones and in one nokia 6233 it shows an error message "impossible with this audio device", so I'm assuming that is something wrong with my BT or I don't know what to do!

PS: I can't have other BT or cradle to test it, because all are sold out at the MB dealer!

Thanks for any help ;)

I don't think the handset volume makes a difference to microphone volume with my handset.

There is a "secret command" for the US BT puck to turn the mic volume up and down but it does not seem to work with my V1 BT SAP puck. Not sure if the microphone volume could be adapted with SDS?

Never heard about it!

With my A6 3.0TDI the phone volume makes some diference, but with my new W204 it doesn't, both eared and mic volume are regulated via comand system.

Any one can confirm if the operation is possible or not please?

Where did you get your microphone ? If you are using a Nokia car kit mic it will be too quiet - I'd use the retrofit mic for the r129 sl -

However, after you've done that, you'll have the next problem - which is the HFP is not compatbale with D2B UHI - the microphone is too sensitive and the person calling you gets echo - making it un-usable. I've tested iPhone, 6230, 6300, 6500 slide, N73 and a number of others - its definetly the HFP at fault, and if you read MB's cradle guide it says no HFP on D2B cars.
- The ViseeO has a volume control on the side to prevent that -

If your mic is correct, then you could try a fixed 6230i cradle from your dealer to rule out the BT cradle.

What you are saying its now all correct, sure what you say applys to my car (i retrofitted the UHI) and as discrebed first I had echo and a good volume and I could rise up the volume at the phone, but now the volume is too low and I changed the parts I mentioned above.
If its not compatible why when I put the BT cradle in my brothers coupe UHI factory fitted (D2B) it works fine!!! ... but no volume control on phone also! the volume its always at middle.

So it worked before.
And did it go wrong with the old mic and you changed it for the same part, but still quiet ? I didnt think the volume on the handset altered how the UHI system behaved - it was just being a bluetooth headset which have their own volume system

Just repeating what Mercedes say and I have found in D2B UHI on ML, SL, C CLK with UHI D2B.
The echo is only heard by someone calling into the car's phone./

The echo was my first problem... than I stopped using the UHI, now some time later I tryed again and this time the problem is diferent, the volume of the mic is low, no one can ear well what I'm saying.

The parts I changed was the rear view mirror (mic) and the UHI interface (in the boot), all parts came from my brother coupe.

I'm sick of this, I ordered an pioneer HD3BT to change for the comand 2.0 and UHI.
Meanwhile while it not arrive, I will try to find an 6230i cradle to test it, I think the problem its on the BT.

PS: if anyone interested on the UHI harness and interface contact me, I will reap it from my car soon.

Regards
