im not a massive Button fan, but i am a massive Man City fan, i would never pay that sort of money for any Man city Model

what are those guys thinking

I wouldn't be interested in either the model or in the asking price but I don't see where some of these reactions are coming from? Fools?

If this is really 1 of 6 exact replicas, built at the BAR HONDA Factory, from Kevlar and Carbon Fibre parts, then it seems to me they can charge what they like.

Have you seen the prices collectable models can go for? It's not particularly about being a fan of Man United or Jensen Button, it's about being a collector. I have a friend who used to have a collection of toy tractors that was worth thousands and there is a model train shop near me and some of the prices there would make your eyes water.

But £3500 would buy you part of an actual Formula 1 car that was driven by Jenson.

I'm not suggestiing the 1 of 6 factory built models isn't worth £3500 - just that you need to be a serious nut to want that.

I have an ex Nigel Mansell front tyre scrounged from the Williams pit Garage at Brands Hatch. Nice bit of toughened glass on the top. Great coffee table. I walked up to his garage and asked if I could have it and they said yes (free of charge)

Those were the days. He blew an engine in testing for the British Gand Prix. The next day they were selling his pistons with Mansell's autograph etc as ashtrays.

it seems my ' Fools ' comment may have been taken the wrong way and i guess thats the problem when you write something you can sometimes be misunderstood, i meant it in a light hearted kinda way and did not mean they were actual fools

in regards to my comment about being a MAN CITY fan, i was trying to put myself in the position of the possible buyer. you can also be a collector of football memorabilia and i know that if i was going to spend that kind of money on something then i would the actual footballer to have used it ie worn it or kicked it or in this case used it as part of his car, as far as i understand Button has never seen this item let alone touched it,

im sorry i just dont get why someone would spend that kinda money on something that has no other connection to the person other than being a model of his car
