The problem occurred when Merc (Main dealer) replaced some fuel pipes in my car after I was having a diesel smell in the car.

And Since that day I am having a uneven idle, the RPM hand basically goes down not up in my case and the even the lights flicker as well when the RPM goes down feels like it it goes to cut the engine off.

I went to a Merc Specialist, he ran a star diagnostic and nothing came up, few gentleman suggested here on forums it could be vac pipe, but its checked and its fine.

So guys any suggestions?

Naturally I have spoken to Merc and complaint that they have caused this problem because the the minute I took the car from garage I have this problem but they simply refused.

Thanks in advance guys for any suggestions.

Have you tried to contact there head office as you have a the right to have your car fixed if there is a problem after the car was worked on by them

Yes, I have and they have opened a case and investigating this matter futher, in there email they have said they will get back to me within 10 working days but I will give them couple of days more because of Xmas break.

I got a reply from them on 22nd December though.

Yeah they are a bit slow in replying to complaints as they will have to speak to the dealer about the matter and then get back to you

Do you think I am looking for any positive response from them, generally how good there Customer services is?

BTW what car you have in your profile pciture, it looks really cool, can I see a bigger version!!?

Its hard to say what sort of response you will get from them it is really hit and miss with them one day they will come back and fight your corner till the end next it will be they will wash their hands of it.

The car is a modded CLK 63 black series

Ok so basically I got a reply from MREC head office and like you said they have simply wased there hands with it and not insterested, all they are saying is go to dealer and speak to them, WHAT a rubbish customer services, I have no reason for going to main dealers any more now....

Yeah i did say they were very hit and miss and clearly you have missed out.

Which dealer did you take it to

Were the replacement fuel pipes before or after fuel filter/pump? Could be a contamination issue caused when fitting.

I'm having a problem with my c220 the dashboard lights and headlights are flickering at tickover and I've been told I need a new alternator at £650 could there be any cheaper options I could check first before shelling out

You probably have an over voltage issue. Get it sorted asap as this can cause £££ worth of damage.

£650 seems a bit steep
