Sorry if this has been posted already, but came across this whilst trawling the web, posted a month ago. Does anyone know of the background, is it a forum member?

“We feel offering to pay 100 per cent of the cost of repair for an privately-bought unknown car that’s not had a service history with us for six years was reasonable.”

This suggests that he hasn't even bought the car from the MB Dealer, and on that basis, doesn't seem unreasonable - there are always 2 sides to a story - and I'm the last person to defend MB!

Anyone know the full story?
:dk:

Wow i didnt know they rust:D amazing what you learn on here.

So bought it private no mb history and expects them to pay, bet hes on benefits as well:)

As mentioned above there is always two sides to a story, so whenever someone or something gets slagged of in the press im always curious what the other side/partys story would be.

According to the newspaper article he says he is losing £1000 a week doing this. He's being doing it for 5 weeks.---- £5,000 would have paid for quite a decent respray?? If true I think he has maybe lost his sense of perspective on this one however justified his cause.

Is he wrong?

He may have bought privately but does that excuse:

Poor electrics
Rust
Poor customer service

He is only protesting about things we have all complained ( W210 owners anyway ) about on here before.
He had the choice to walk away when buying it. Would you inspect a car before purchase? I would. So the faults he now has should have been known about when he bought th car.
