Unknown Switch

    Hi.

    Have just arrived home in my new (1993!) to me 124 Estate - 300td, very pleased with it. Excellent condition.

    However - there is a switch on the centre console, by the one for the interior lights whose function I cannot work out.

    Looks like a light shining down (on the diagram) and lights up when i press it.

    Any suggestions please .....

    I aws looking at your post this mornig and i can`t work out what it is.Run the vin on the russian site,and see.

    reading light over the rear seats is'nt it as on my coupe.

    The taxi driver switches it on so's the fellow in the rear can sort out his fare money....
    that's what I've always thought - half the world uses these as taxis?
