Unmarked Police

Golf R in Sussex, can keep up with a C350 very well apparently.

Double post by mistake

Around Sheffield they did use unmarked Evo's and impreza's although I havent seen any for a while.

That's because all the Evo's in S.Yorks eventually broke and they got shut.

Audi Q7 armed response vehicle 'AR60 xxx' - black. Surrey Police, don't ask how I know... :wallbash:

Was going to post the same - turned up here when a druggie hanged himself in our car port last year... Quickest way to get a defibrillator to the scene apparently.

They tell me the Evo VIIIs and IX's were doing a clutch every 2000 miles  They still running some Evo X though I believe or were 2 weeks ago :D

No more Evo's i'm afraid - looked the part but a nightmare with clutches and gearboxes. They were even off the road for several weeks waiting for parts from Japan at times.

I remember being at the auctions at Brighouse several years ago when one of the Evo VIII's went through. Numerous people were viewing prior to the sale thinking a potential bargain here.

I was thinking what a shed. It had been rebuilt more times than a child's lego set. Sure enough at the end of the auction it's new owner raced off in the sunset only to be discovered broken down further along the road - what a shock.

I didn't realise the x was as bad, The Impreza's they had were more reliable I believe but just not quick enough. So South Yorks is Evo less :D Nice stash of various BMW in the Manvers compound though which I'm sure will suffice. They also tell me the Insignia VXR is a dog, too nose heavy and full of understeer which doesn't surprise me.

I think you are all talking bollards.

I never see any Police on the roads any more.

Only in McDonalds.

London Met Police are playing 'Catch up' with our Arab friends when they come over on their Jollies!

Sadly the Golf R I came across was quite real and the officer driving it was so keen to show me it he put on his lights and siren to make me stop.

Which car is the favourite amongst the forces ?

Mainly impounded cars from gangsters up here ........

Wouldn't the police save a huge amount of money by negotiating deals on a particular brand combined with other forces?

That would imply a joined up procurement policy, so highly unlikely

hangover

Hampshire Police were buying BMWs many years back when most neighbouring forces were buying Fords etc. For every x number of vehicles that were purchased, BMW threw in a bike foc.

Forget unmarked cars, some of the undercover cars have to be seen to be believed.

Yes lol. Have you seen the Q7 as well.
