Mercedes E-Classe W210 Headlights w/Motor lamps 95-01 | eBay?
Hi I saw these for sale to day on ebay and was thinking of buying a pair for my 2001 E320. Does anybody know if they will work ok or has anybody had dealings with the German firm that supplies them. The lights on my car are pretty dismal and would benifit greatly from these not to mention making the car look a little less dated.

At a guess they will be DEPO brand and rather poor.

Clean up your existing lights and remove the supplementary harness to each lamp unit and your lights will be OK.

The ones in the link are not the depo ones, but even worse in terms of quality. I have used a set of Depo lights on my w210 and with around 10 hours of messing around have fantastic results.

I bought a set of Depo headlights from ebay.de

DEPO SCHEINWERFER SET in Facelift Optik für MERCEDES W210 E-Klasse 95-99 (4250366304625) | eBay

I then bought 2 w211 xenon headlights complete with ballasts, I then removed the projectors, ballasts and bulbs.

I then put the depo lights in the oven (one at a time), split the lights apart and removed the cheap projectors out of them.

Then after some modification, fitted the w211 projectors in. The ballats also managed to fit within the casing. Also wired up the shutter solonoid to the high beam. Then heat the lights up again and press them together, and sealt again with silicone.

As I had xenons on the w210, i was told I would lose the self leveling, but I managed to remove the vacuum actuator and swap it with my electronic adjustment motor.

Then remove the bumpers and swap.

My w210 has w211 Bi-xenon headlamps now, with w211 ballasts and for even better vision Ive fitted osram nightbreakers in the full be slots too.

Total cost was around £600, but the difference is amazing.

Will, how do I remove the supplementary harness...what does it look like? I have Xenons so, is this something for just the halogens?

Hi Dieselman, at the risk of appearing a bit thick what do you mean "remove the supplementary harness to each lamp unit " and just one other thing how do you clean them and what bulbs would you recommend they are standard halogen lamps at the moment,Happy New year to you....................

Thanks fella for that but its just a little to in depth for me I will probably do what dieselman suggests......Happy New year to You........

Sounds like quite a task Akash any pics of the final product ?

Hi Dieselman, at the risk of appearing a bit thick what do you mean "remove the supplementary harness to each lamp unit "
if you follow the wire back from each lamp unit you will find another identical connector about 10" back done the wire.
My suspicion is that this connector will be hot to the touch and possibly cracking due to heat.
undo the connector and connect the loom connector directly tot eh lamp units and you will gain at least 1 volt extra to drive the bulbs, which will result in significantly greater light emission.

I don't know if the Xenon lights have this, but I suspect it is an adapter cable for different light units, so possible.

By the way Dieselman checked lights and I have found that they are xenons ! Thats how daft I am, anyway they had two different bulbs in them so I have bought 2 new ones and some silver stars for full beam. I will fit them and see how I go.......Quite literally ! Thanks again.....
