Urgent help please!

Help needed please, driving this morning and accelerated then a bang like my front offside tyre exploding, then a noise and seemed as though gearbox slipping, now car seems in limp mode, no power and will not accelerate also some black smoke from exhaust which was not there before, cannot decide where the fault lies turbo or gearbox,the car is a W210 E320cdi 2000 model, many thanks Dave

First and foremost, is your car manual or automatic?

My first impression would be the gearbox - but I can't see where that would affect the exhaust...

Do you have any more information? Are there any sounds when the engine is idling/driving? Liquid losses?

e320 will probably an auto.
manauls do not go bang except eek!!!!!

Many thanks Lads, Just delved a bit deeper and your correct with turbo pipe blown off! not only blown off its broken the lugs off the plastic housing from turbo to intercooler pipe! ordered one from Merc £48 arriving tomorrow hopefully, many thanks for the quick response, cheers Dave

Well normally i do not think they would blow off, but im guessing that either mine has had a slight nudge on the front possibly damaging the plastic like trunking between turbo and intercooler or maybe just some hamfisted fitter not put the spring clip back properly on the pipe, cheers Dave
