Hi All
Hope you had a good christmas and a happy new year to you all.

Silly question perhaps but I have a power supply that has packed up it is a 1.3amp can I use a 2amp same voltage etc just the amps are higher, will it damage the device.:dk:

My wife has a rechargeable toothbrush it is a Braun and the 2amp charger is from her other Braun toothbrush.

very unlikely as the 2amp refers to max available current , not that is the current that willflow, If the voltages were different ,then a problem.

Yes you can, as long as the voltage is the same.

Thanks guys
That is what I thought am I correct in thinking it will probably charge it quicker and they have made the new brush with a 1.3amp charger to make it cheaper to produce.

It'll charge at the same speed as before. The current rating of the charger is the maximum available current. The device itself doesn't 'know' about the rating, it just takes what it needs and as long as this is less than the charger's maximum rating your house won't burn down.

Agree with the above, but if using a power supply/charger not intended for that device you need to make sure the polarity of the connector (+/-) is correct.

If not then you may well cause damage.
