V-Power Diesel Vs BP Ultimate?

Back on topic.

when I had a car, i used Tescos deisel (whoever supplied that) round town, and every now and again ran it on BP Ultimate for a couple of tank fulls. The smoke was less under full throttle with BP than with Tescos.

I was able to extract a bit more MPG on a long run, but only 2 or 3 mpg, which made a difference over a 602 mile round trip, but not enough to warrant every fill.

I eventually settled on the fact that getting BP in it ready for any long motorway drives would clear the engine of the build up of grime and clean it out.

Trouble with a diesel is you can't tell at fill up as the old gunk is still in the pipes to the engine. You need to give it a good tank full and use it before getting another tank full and measuring your differences then.

If it gave you up to 5% better performence, you would need to stop watch to see that.

We don't get BP here. and it says 98 down at the shell garage for the superunleaded. its gone up too. 83p a ltr now.

Another nod for using a normal branded diesel fuel (BP, Esso, Shell) and adding millers power sport 4 to the car.

On the same commute I've noticed a significant gain in MPG, marginal increase in performance and the car runs quieter.
