Hello,
Putting in the new head unit today, as the cable for the CDchanger was way back I had to twist the head unit too close from the dash and I scratch the varnish on the wook panels :(
Is there a way of getting rid of the scratches? Like a buffer or something?
Thank yu.

I read somewhere that if they are fairly faint scratches (Not gone all the way through the laquer)

Use a Compound/polish to get it out,

If its a bit too severe for polish alone,

Use a 2000 or 2500 Wet and dry to wet sand and then a compound to bring back the shine.

I have not tried this, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Good luck

Cheers,
I'l be a wee worry to use sand paper...even 2500.... Anymore imput there?

If the thought of sandpaper frightens you, as it did me when saw it, try some compound on its own as that is still slightly abrasive.

Has the scratch gone through all the laquer?

The laquer on the wood is hard, so the w&d 2500 and compound should be fine, as I've wetsanded a few scratches out of my cars paintwork this way with good results and its basically the same thing!

I don't know if the scratch went through the laquer? Its white now.
I'll take a picture tomorrow.
Cheers.

Can you take the panel off? If so, I can sort it for you but you'd need to travel west just a tad. Like to Bathgate. :D.

I've got a bench mop that takes out scratches well.

I've emailed you a pdf file Olivier :thumb:
