i have checked all heatshield s and no not them i even removed them all and took for a spin still their

on happens when driving that is why i cant find the rattley tinny noise o it got me miffed

ha ha lucky i have the c36 in moth balls but out she will come if needs be , its my daily driver the c240 v6 that has the noise

she has had done too this week new engine mounts and aerial running very well

If it doesn't happen when you rev the engine and is still there after everything you have investigated - I think it's time to rule out the engine/exhaust and look elsewhere.

Heatshields on the bulkhead?
Wheel arch liner and bit that connects to the undertray - all properly secured?
Foot/handbrake mechanism.

etc

Most likely to be disintegrated baffles in the front box/resonator.

I had the same problem on my 190e. I removed and replaced a number of times before throwing in the towel and taking it to an exhaust garage.

They then found the baffles in the resonator had crumbled away causing it to rasp and sound like a blow. They cut out and welded in a new resonator which cured the problem.

New engine mounts... could the engine torque over be causing a body to ex-pipe contact?

sounds like the engine mounts allowing the engine to move on mountings and create a leak to me.....

Are you sure it's not a split manifold?

you have it in one i took a friend who many years ago came 2 in the world as a mechanic and he found it in five min
