Very Nice W201 2.6 Sportline

That is a stunning example! Definitely not cheap but you get what you pay for..

Shame it doesn't have the Sportline interior though!

I can vouch for MTSV as a decent and honourable outfit. I purchased my newly acquired CLK from there in January and Mark Taylor was very good to deal with. His cars are prepared to a high standard and he continued to support me after the sale with regard to a suspension issue which was rectified locally as l live over 100 miles away from his premises. His cars aren't cheap but quality seldom comes cheap.

I'm definitely no expert on 190's and the Sportline equipment level. Out of interest what would the Sportline interior have comprised of? I have seen other 190's listed previously as Sportline's, but they have generally had cloth interiors with check centres on the seats. Those had seats that looked far more sculptured (especially the rears) which was nice. Would that be the difference, ie seat form, or would there be other things too?

Like this one from an ad some months back

Sportline interior has the same configuration as the 16v models - 2x bucket seats in the rear.

Available either in fabric only or full leather as an option.

16v cars had half leather as standard, full leather as an option.

You can have the sportline chassis without the interior upgrade, as per the car in this thread :thumb:

I have to say I really like that fabric interior:thumb:

I prefer the half leather/check cloth interior for a 16v, seems more in keeping with the model and instantly recognisable.

Full leather maybe nice on something like a 2.6 sportline perhaps.

I’d buy on condition though these days.

Dealer added more pics to advert. Still none of under bonnet yet. Only viewing on my phone, clean under the arches and looks like fresh paint to components. Think I’d rather just see it clean rather than new paint.

Which pics Simon, can’t see the ones showing under the arches/fresh paint?

More pics added to the original advert, including engine bay. Clearly the dealer has been busy preparing the car. It does look very nice, but I still can't get my head round the asking price. A similarly specified 2.6 sportline that looked equally nice condition with full leather interior, ac, sunroof, etc and 81K miles was listed on mercedes-190.co.uk forum last year for £6.5K? That was a private seller, so clearly you would expect it to be more through a dealer, but twice the price?? Maybe that one was a bargain :dk:
